We have immense pleasure to welcome all stakeholders to the Department of Commerce of Ilahia College of Arts and Science. Department of Commerce has the distinction of being the pioneer in Commerce education among self- financing colleges in Kerala. Started in 1999 with one Model I B.Com batch having an intake capacity of 60 students and 3 teachers, the Department attained the present stature with three undergraduate programmes and two master’s programmes in Commerce. With 575 students, the department accommodates almost  half   the student strength of the college. The seventeen teaching faculty on the rolls, are a blend of experience and expertise. The department offers some of the best academic resources for excellence, be it by way of faculty, programme options, courseware, infrastructure, library and computers. The visionary management, commitment and initiatives of the faculty, the importance given to the students’ soft skills enhancement, the state of the art infrastructure facilities, the ever readiness of the student community to imbibe the positive aspects of every incident and the cordial relation  prevailing in the department enable each student enrolling here for Commerce education  to implant Ilahia’s Motto, excellence with the perfection of the human personality, in their lives The department brings to the students a dynamic environment for the holistic development of their personalities, aspirations and talents in the discipline of commerce.

  • Started B.Com ( Model I) with Computer Application as the optional course in 1999
  • B.Com (Model II) with Finance &Taxation as optional courses started in 2004.
  • Upgraded to post graduate department in 2004 by starting M.Com programme under Finance Stream
  • Started B.Com (Model II) with Computer Application as the optional course in 2011
  • M.Com Programme with Specialisation in Marketing started in 2012
